Reality says NO, you do not have to do Abs. However, your bathing suit AND your muffin top say, YES YOU MUST DO ABS! Your core is what supports all of the other exercises your body wants to do.

The workout recommends working cardio sessions in between your ab sets. All of these exercises incorporate legs and that Boootay into the exercise. Several even get shoulders and upper body in the game. If you prefer a more traditional ab workout, this is for you. Mind you, both will give you a great ab workout. You can’t go wrong with either option. Remember to focus on your form. Keep the abdominals engaged and utilize a full range of motion for best results.
I happen to like mixing up the two for variety. This will help make ab day a bit less tedious but also keeps the muscles guessing what comes next.
